Rockefellers, Pumpkins and Kilts

I always feel like I run out of time to write about all that I did over the weekend. Especially when pictures get involved. So here we go, my super quick recap of my holiday weekend. My family and I went to Hudson Valley, NY for the Great Jack-o-lantern Blaze. But first was a 3 hour tour of the Rockefeller estate, Kykuit. Here are Sean and I on the west porch. Our big fat heads are blocking the fantastic view, sorry.

And here is a photo of the front of the house. Beautiful building and gardens, but the last Rockefeller to live there, the governor, had a thing for modern art...and I don't. So the strange sculptures and paintings just didn't fit for me.

Sadly, a lot of my pictures of the Jack-O-Lantern Blaze didn't come out well, but here's a nice close up of one of the celtic knot pumpkins which Sean and I are thinking of imitating on our own pumpkin. But the displays were incredible...dinosaur skeletons, giant spiders and a whole undersea display!

We finished off the weekend with a trip to the CT Renaissance Faire. Sadly, Sean had to work, otherwise I'd have pictures of him up on stage for the Men in Kilts competition. But you'll have to make do with our friend, Chris, having his kilt checked.

I came away with a new irish Tudor gown :) It's so pretty!

Alright, I have to run, but I'll leave you of a picture of London helping me type this blog entry:
