Unexpectedly, I was able to actually "give" them to a couple of cats. I asked which needed them the most, and the worker brought me over to a cage with two brothers in it. She said that one of them was warming up to people, while his brother (who was lying in the litterbox) did not like being there. I placed the blankets in the cage and then asked to visit with them in the spare room.
Both boys were very sweet, with the friendly bro warming right up to us, and the other guy needed a little coaxing. With some skritching behind the ears and on the cheeks they were quite happy with us. Before we left we saw that litterbox bro had warmed up to one of the Snuggles quite nicely.
They had curled up together to share the purple Snuggle. It warmed my heart and made me feel like I had made their indefinite stay a bit more comfortable.
I went out and bought materials for 3 more :)
