We've become "that" neighbor

This is a bit embarrassing, but we were called out about our lawn yesterday. It's in very sad shape, long grass, dandelions everywhere, but in our defense, Sean is planning on cutting it and spreading Weed n Feed on Friday when he has a half day. With the show and all the rain we've had lately, we haven't had a chance to get out there.

We got home from dropping off Nana's birthday gift and our next door neighbor's tenant was outside with her dog and a young man. She waved us over and introduced us to her daughter's boyfriend, who was home for the summer and "a good worker, should we need it". Turns out, her landlord is an absolute freak about his perfect lawn, has someone come in and take care of it, and he's been griping about our lack of lawn care thus far.

We'll see if he's singing a different tune after this weekend.

I know your lawn has been in the shade for years and this year, it's laid bare to the hot sun. Lawns like sun, not shade, but it's in shock. A lawn under a tree is not pretty when revealed to the light. It can get long a scraggly quickly. It takes time to start looking nice.
And what business does your nosy neighbor have griping about a lawn he doesn't even own? I'd be severely tempted to leave a nice terrible patch right along his property line just to torment him! :^P

He's a nice enough guy, and we're not one to stir pots lol.

I know for sure we are 'those' neighbors as well even though no one has actually said anything yet. Who has time for some gardening when we hard so hard!? :P Come to think of it, my neighbor did cut some branches off from our lilac tree (or is it a bush?) yesterday, claiming they were now reaching his property! Maybe next time i see his son's soccer ball on my side, i will puncture it! *evil*! lol
